预期宽松继续 黄金期货创4周最大涨幅
纽约商品期货交易所（COMEX）12月黄金期货10月17日收盘大涨40.7美元或3.2%成为每盎司1,323美元，创下4周以来的单日最大涨幅；因美元指数下跌1%，以及预期美国量化宽松将持续的影响，12月白银期货上涨2.7%成为每盎司21.947美元。
ETF黄金继续减持 白银持平不变：
全球最大黄金上市交易基金（ETF）–SPDR黄金信托基金（GLD.US）17日黄金持有量减少3.3公吨成为882.23公吨。最大的白银ETF–安硕白银指数基金（SLV.US），白银持有量持平为10,391.35公吨。
芝加哥联储总裁表示数据不足以支持缩减QE：
芝加哥联邦储备银行总裁Charles Evans 17日表示，现在经济数据还不足以支持FED缩减购债规模，预期货币高度宽松态势将持续一段时间不变。
澳洲最大金矿纽克雷斯特矿业黄金增产27%：
世界第五大黄金生产商、澳洲最大金矿商纽克雷斯特矿业（Newcrest Mining Limited）10月17日公布的季度生产报告符合公司在7月份所作的预估。该公司截至九月的上季黄金产量年增27%至586,573盎司，但较前季减少9%；铜产量年增6%至19,632公吨，但较前季减少14%；总生产成本为每盎司1,093澳元（1,001美元），较截至6月底的2013财年略低，平均销售金价为每盎司1,442澳元。
