原油商讨减产：油价在周一继续大幅下挫并创逾五周新低，沙特和俄罗斯称可能增加供应，而美国产量增长未显示放缓迹象。为解决潜在的供应短缺问题，石油输出国组织OPEC的实际领头羊沙特，以及最大石油生产国俄罗斯已经就减少限产和每日增加供应100万桶进行了磋商。
意大利组阁失败：意大利组阁进展再一次被打断。意大利总统马塔雷拉拒绝任命对欧元持怀疑态度的经济学家萨沃纳为财长，导致民粹主义政党暂停组建新政府。受此影响，意大利陷入了更深的政治动荡中。萨沃纳是民粹主义政党推荐的财长人选，而马塔雷拉的否决无疑激怒了这些政党。五星运动党表示，他们正在考虑提议弹劾总统马塔雷拉。
