美望希腊留欧：据报道，美国高官周末试图帮助希腊解决财政困境，并努力敦促欧洲和IMF拿出复苏计划，以使希腊留在欧元区。据白宫声明称，美国领导人一致希望，尽最大努力使希腊在欧元区内恢复改革和经济成长；同时，各自的经济团队，也正在密切关注情势并将保持密切接触。从该报道可以看出，美方表明立场，希望希腊继续留在欧元区，若美方能够提供有力的帮助，希腊债务危机或有解决的转机，使之重燃希望，并削弱市场的避险情绪，令黄金备受重压。
欧元和股市重挫：因希腊债务违约一触即发，引起股市大慌。周一，欧元下跌近2%，创近一个月低位；同时，拖累亚洲股市重挫、美国股指期货一度下挫近2%，触及三个月低位，跌幅约1.6%。由于市场对希腊发生违约的预期越发浓重，受此影响，欧元、美国与中国股市皆受到强力的打压，大量风险偏好资金从市场流出，转向流入黄金市场寻求避险，为黄金的上涨提供动能。
