印度寺庙出借黄金且以此为利息

上周有消息称，有印度寺庙向印度国家银行(SBI)出借1800公斤黄金，并收取1%的利息。
这一事件最为引人关注的在于，其利息也是黄金。用黄金来制造收益是很简单的，看准时机低买高卖获得收益。如果以美元作为收益，那么投资者事实上是不会太过在意自己究竟拥有多少黄金。但如果收益是黄金的形式，那情况就完全不同了。
在这样的情况下，投资者们不能出售买权或者出卖黄金本身，因为一旦价格下跌，就必须把这些黄金买回来。但原本所有的美元在金价上涨后所能购买的黄金就变少了。
比如，如果原本有100盎司黄金，而金价在1300美元/盎司，出售一个12月期货买权后，金价上涨到1325，那么就能获得25美元/盎司的收益，也就是总共2500美元的收益。然而，如果9月期金上涨到1500，那么所拥有的12月期权的1325的价格就意味着拥有132500本金+2500溢价总共135000美元。而如果想要把原本的黄金买回来，以1500的价格，这些资金只能买回90盎司。
SBI将支付给寺庙1%的黄金作为利息，对出借黄金的寺庙而已，它每出借100盎司黄金，次年就能拿回101盎司，这实在是没有风险的好生意。而对银行来说，要怎么支付这些利息是很让人好奇的。毕竟黄金本身是不产生收益的。
一些人认为，SBI将这些黄金出售或者投资在美元计算的物品中，以这些带来的收益支付给寺庙。但这对银行来说显然是有风险的，如果金价上涨那么资金所能买到的黄金就会减少。再举例，如果起初有100盎司黄金，换取13万美元，那么当美元下跌使得金价上涨到1500美元/盎司时，这些原本价值100盎司黄金的资金就只值86.68盎司，亏损了13.32盎司。
对投资者来说或许问题不大，但对银行则可能是很严重的问题。银行的资产负债表有资产有负债，负债里包括这些借来的黄金，比如100盎司。而银行所购买的任何资产也就价值100盎司黄金的资金，以1300美元/盎司计算就是13万美元。而如果这些资金变成仅仅价值86盎司了，那么银行的资产负债表就出问题了，大量出现则可能破产。
对于SBI愿意承担风险的猜测事实上是有问题的，日常生活中之所以有保险是因为无论多么小心，意外总有可能出现。而对于没有贬值，这个风险就要大很多，甚至可能称不上是风险，更像是注定会发生的事情。对于SBI这一作为，还有一个猜测则显得非常阴谋论，有人认为银行根本就没真的打算支付黄金作为利息，最终可能让印度政府宣称所有出借黄金都以货币计算。
至于最终如何，恐怕只能观察等待。
