五矿资源：停止Sepon矿山营运五矿资源(01208)公布，由于可采储量耗尽及利润率降低，其已决定于十二月起停止其老挝Sepon矿山的黄金开采及生产。基于此决定，黄金选矿厂将进入保养和维护状态。公司指，为使 LXML 运营业务能够保持其稳健贡献，停止 Sepon 黄金运营的决定是必要的。Sepon 氧化金可采储量已于一段时间前耗尽，按照先前的预测生产应该于2011年停止。较高的剥采比例与较弱的黄金价格结合造成生产成本增加，这表示公司于 Sepon 生产黄金已经不具经济效益。
投资大亨伊坎：美股可能“大跌”美国投资大亨伊坎(Carl Icahn)周一在路透全球投资展望峰会上表示表示，他对股市看法“非常谨慎”，称认为可能将出现“大跌”，因为很多公司获利的更多受益于低廉的借贷成本而非出色的管理。伊坎说道：“简单来说，大量企业盈利只是‘海市蜃楼’。企业并非因为经营良好而获得盈利，原因只是因为利率处于低位。”
