2013年隆明铂金产量75.1万 创6年新高

路透社报导，全球第三大铂金矿商南非隆明公司（Lonmin Plc）11月11日公布，截至9月的2013财年（2012.10~2013.09），该公司税前获利达到1.4亿美元，此优于Thomson Reuters调查分析师平均预估的8,390万美元。该公司2012财年受到严重罢工事件的影响，导致有6.98亿美元的亏损。隆明公司表示，2013财年该公司矿产铂金产量75.1万盎司创下6年新高，铂金销量69.6万盎司，则是高于公司原先预期的66万盎司。
隆明公司旗下的南非铂金矿Marikana去年爆发罢工并导致34名矿工在8月16日与警方的严重冲突中丧生之后，南非的罢工潮蔓延逾两个月。庄信万丰（Johnson Matthey）年度报告称，南非去年铂金产量年减16%至410万盎司，因为罢工所导致的产量损失至少达75万盎司。南非是全球最大铂金生产国，占全球产量近八成比重。汇丰银行（HSBC）资深分析师Jim Steel表示，由于铂金价格的低迷，南非已经有相当数量的铂金矿生产不符合经济效益，这可能在未来导致铂金产量的减少。
受到全球汽车销量预期将创新高的带动，铂金与钯金预期将成为明年度表现最佳的贵金属，铂金与钯金均主要用于生产汽车的触媒转化器。根据彭博社的调查，至2014年第四季，铂金价格将上涨13%至平均每盎司1,635美元，钯金价格将上涨9.8%至平均每盎司823美元。今年以来，金银铂价格分别下跌20%、25%与6.4%，钯金价格则是上涨6.4%。追踪24种商品的标普高盛商品价格指数则是下滑3.2%。彭博社的调查也预估今年第四季铂金与钯金的平均价格将分别为每盎司1,500美元与750美元。
