印度第四季黄金需求将达250-300公吨

彭博社报导，印度商务部10月9日公布的数据显示，9月份金银进口额较去年同期的46亿美元大减至8亿美元，主要因为印度政府提高黄金进口关税以及限制黄金进口措施奏效的影响。印度财政部10月1日甫表示，政府要求黄金进口必须有20%用于再出口的措施将会持续下去。印度经济事务部长Arvind Mayaram 10月1日则是表示，政府希望在截至明年三月的本财政年度，将黄金进口量较上财年的845公吨降至800公吨。
世界黄金协会（World Gold Council）印度地区执行董事P.R Somasunderam预估，印度第四季黄金需求或在250-300公吨之间，去年同期为260公吨。Somasunderam表示，今年雨季的气候良好，这可能促进收成后农村地区的黄金需求。预计在9月底至11月中的节日期间，黄金需求将上升，印度人认为在节日购买黄金会很吉利。农村地区的黄金需求占印度总黄金需求的70%左右。根据印度农业部数据，今年的雨季使印度农民增收7%。
印度政府祭出调高关税以及限制进口等措施，希望藉抑制黄金消费来避免经常帐赤字的进一步攀高。印度8月黄金进口量只有3公吨，远低于去年同期的35公吨，而今年4月金价大跌时，印度的黄金进口量更达到142公吨。尽管如此，印度总理经济顾问C. Rangarajan上月预估，截至明年三月底的本财政年度，印度金银进口额预估约为400亿美元，其中黄金进口额预估为380亿美元，此将与上个财政年度的380亿美元进口额相当。
