財政刺激計畫無望，金價持續下跌

10月16日，市場對美國在總統大選前就經濟刺激計畫達成新協議的預期不斷減弱，降低了黃金作為對沖工具的吸引力，間接提振了美元指數，黃金預料估計持續下跌。
美國民主黨人和共和黨人似乎不太可能在大選日之前就刺激協議達成一致，儘管新增病例數繼續上升，勞動力市場復蘇停滯不前。
美國眾議院議長佩洛西告訴民主黨同僚，雖然和白宮接近就新冠病毒檢測專案達成共識，但雙方在刺激方案的其他許多領域都存有分歧。制定國家性的病毒檢測策略一直是佩洛西及其助手本周與財政部長姆努欽會談中遇到的障礙。預計姆努欽將在未來幾天前往中東，這進一步表明選舉前刺激方案不會出臺，儘管雙方都表示會繼續努力。
美國總統特朗普的經濟顧問拉裏·庫德洛稱，即使財政部長史蒂文·姆努欽和眾議院議長南希·佩洛西能就刺激方案達成協議，議員們也很難“執行”協議。
分析師稱，由於全球疫情仍然在發展，對一些國家再次封城等的擔憂使得投資者處於觀望中。短期由於美國刺激專案一直沒能出現，黃金承壓。但長期而言，通脹會升溫，黃金會獲得提振。
分析師指出，美國政府無法達成協議，這使得市場出現了更多波動。黃金被陷於震盪區域內，金價要漲至1950上方或者1850美元/盎司下方才能確定新的方向。
