當地時間3日，國際貨幣基金組織總裁克裡斯塔利娜?格奧爾基耶娃表示了對中國新型冠狀病毒感染肺炎疫情的關切。她表示：對新型冠狀病毒感染的肺炎疫情表示誠摯慰問。我們支持最近一段時間以來中國政府在應對這一疫情方面採取的措施，包括財政、貨幣和金融領域。中國經濟繼續展現出極強的韌性，我們對此充滿信心。

本周以來雖然英國順利脫離歐盟進入過渡期，但市場普遍認為在較短的時間內，英國和歐盟仍然無法就貿易問題達成協議，因此硬脫歐的擔憂升溫。此外，在英國脫歐之後，蘇格蘭獨立風潮迭起，再度增加了市場潛在的避險因素。
英國脫歐後的過渡期將於2020年12月31日結束，有分析就指出，英國與歐盟在年底前的談判目標將是達成一項基本自貿協定，給予對方免關稅、免配額的市場准入，涵蓋海關措施、原產地規則等。
當地時間4日，北京時間5日10:00整，美國總統特朗普將前往國會大廈發表他的第三次國情咨文演講。
據報導，白宮一直對特朗普是否明確提出彈劾問題，以及談到的程度閃爍其詞，但一位高級官員表示，總統將傳達一個前瞻性資訊，這一資訊將奠定樂觀的願景。
報導稱，特朗普還將就降低醫療保健成本問題向國會發出“特別呼籲”，白宮將處方藥定價，天價醫療費用以及保險計畫靈活性視為總統將要解決的具體問題。
報導指出，特朗普還將討論移民問題，並宣傳在2016年競選承諾的邊境問題上所取得的進展。據海關與邊境保護局稱，特朗普在邊境地區建造了約177公里的新隔離牆。
