12月6日，受到強勁非農資料影響，避險情緒緩和，金價被大幅拋售，但由於全球貿易局勢仍未有明確的發展，金價並沒有進一步的下跌。同時特朗普的減稅措施未能帶來更多的經濟支撐，且英國大選等消息仍讓市場處於一定謹慎。
美國勞工部公佈的11月季調後非農就業人口錄得增加26.6萬人，遠超預期的增加18萬人，並錄得10個月新高；11月失業率錄得3.5%，低於預期的3.6%。
有評論稱，美國11月非農就業人口增幅為10個月來最大，因此前罷工的通用汽車工人重返就業市場。且醫療行業增加招聘，這證明儘管製造業持續低迷，但經濟依舊溫和擴張。
兩大國的貿易摩擦是市場主要的關注對象，但目前並未有太多消息爆出，市場投資者還是保持謹慎。
除了英國之外，作為世界互聯網市場發展最快的國家之一，印尼政府週三表示將推行新規，要求外企支付電子商務交易稅。奧地利官員稱，他們將從明年1月起徵收數字稅，旨在為所有企業提供公平的競爭環境。加拿大財政部則表示，特魯多政府會推進數字稅政策，以確保跨國科技公司按照在加拿大獲得的收入繳稅。
經合組織（OECD）週四發佈的報告顯示，2018年美國稅收收入占GDP比重下降了2.5個百分點，在經合組織國家中降幅最大。而此前特朗普承諾的，減稅刺激經濟增長尚未兌現。經合組織的報告推升了市場的避險，對金價構成一些支撐。
這一減稅措施幾十年來首次戲劇性地改變了美國的稅收格局，永久性地將公司稅率從35%降至21%，暫時降低了個人稅率，限制了州和地方的稅收減免，還有其他一些變革。
目前針對總統特朗普的彈劾調查將美國政黨博弈推向了高潮。一方面，民主黨人控制的眾議院情報委員會3日公佈的調查報告宣稱坐實了調查的“合理性”；另一方面，共和黨人也開始群起反攻，極有可能成為史上第三位被彈劾總統的特朗普憤而抨擊“彈劾”本身就是卑鄙的字眼。
分析認為，在美聯儲暫停降息的背景下，全球央行甚至歐洲央行都可能放棄繼續降息。全球寬鬆的環境可能轉變，這對金價並不是好消息，會給金價中期走勢帶來壓力。
隨著官員們越來越擔心負利率的影響，加上行長拉加德即將宣佈一項戰略評估，大多數受訪者表示未來兩年歐洲央行的貨幣政策將處於“自動駕駛”模式。經濟學家現在預計，央行的下一步行動將是加息，時間節點在2022年第一季度。
