中美關係擬和，還有另一事件重傷美元
12月3日，現貨黃金創下新高，因美元指數走弱，中美同意徵收新關稅，市場緊張情緒得到舒緩。市場短期風險利好得到提升，投資者對美元需求下降。此外投資者對美聯儲將升息幾次存在疑問，美元指數上漲受到牽制。
國務委員兼外交部長王毅表示，雙方就如何妥善解決存在的分歧和問題提出了一系列建設性方案。中方願意根據國內市場和人民的需要擴大進口，包括從美國購買適銷對路的商品，逐步緩解貿易不平衡問題。雙方同意相互開放市場，在中國推進新一輪改革開放進程中使美方的合理關切得到逐步解決。雙方工作團隊將按照兩國元首達成的原則共識，朝著取消所有加征關稅的方向，加緊磋商，儘早達成互利雙贏的具體協議。
從市場角度而言，以一個正面結果渡過這個事件風險，且緊張局勢降溫，顯然對風險人氣有利。
除開貿易問題，投資者的焦點也將回到美國貨幣政策，鮑威爾本周稍晚將在美國國會聯合經濟委員會發表證詞陳述。美聯儲12月稍晚料將升息25個基點，為今年第四度升息。
分析師表示：“全球貿易緊張情勢緩解，對美元構成第二重的打擊。在這之前美元受到美聯儲說法偏向鴿派的影響。”他們所指的是美聯儲多位官員近期發表的談話，這些談話暗示當前升息迴圈結束的時間可能早於先前預期。
分析師表示：“我們設定了2%左右的對稱性目標，2%不是利率水準的頂點。之前利率水準長時間低於2%，現在我們也能容忍利率一定程度高於2%，要看市場如何反應。”
美聯儲在2019年或將加息兩次，每次加息25個基點，次數遠低於2018年的四次，美國經濟將進入溫和復蘇階段，其2019年GDP增長將放緩至2.6%。
分析師表示：“我們認為，鮑威爾的立場雖然已較10月的鷹派論調有所軟化，美聯儲仍有望在12月19日的聯邦公開市場委員會(FOMC)會議上決定加息，為今年的第四次升息，並且預計2019年還會加息四次。”
