美元走软会让美国再次强大？
美国财长努钦1月24日发表美元走软有利于美国贸易的言论后，美元指数跌至三年新低，并创下10个月来最大单日跌幅。不过，也许财长是出于好意，但打压美元的举措在长期将会让美国投资者的利益受到侵害。
在就职以前，美国总统特朗普曾表示美元太过强势，这开启了美元的下跌。但努钦的言论像是在阻止泄洪的大坝上凿了一个洞。起初在这个洞凿开之后，只有少量水流出。但如果这个洞未得到修补或更多的洞被凿开，很快大坝就会失掉其自身的机构完整性并导致洪灾。在这种情况下，如果洪灾发生，普通投资者将会在股市遭受损失，就像2008年和2000年一样。
短期来看，弱势美元对股市有利。通常情况下，弱势美元被认为是美国股市的利好因素，尤其是对那些将商品销往海外地区的跨国公司来说。美元疲软使得美国的商品对于外国买家更为便宜。
金银以美元定价。由于这个原因，它们通常与美元反向而行。周四（1月25日），受美元走弱的支撑，现货黄金升至1360美元关口上方，刷新近一年半高位至1363.44美元。

美元一直是世界储备货币。这使得美国可以实行让美国投资者获益的财政和货币政策。美元的下跌危及美元作为世界储备货币的地位。随着其它国家开始质疑持有美元的价值，这会负面影响美元作为世界储备货币的地位。如果海外投资者购买美债的需求减弱，利率将上升。
美国是一个进口大国。随着美元贬值，进口成本上升，这将抬升通胀。迅速上升的通胀对股市不利。为了控制快速上升的通胀，美联储将上调利率。利率迅速上升对股市不利。海外投资者目前购买了大量的美国股票。随着美元下跌，海外投资者没有理由买进美国股票。这对股市不利。
投资者应该开始考虑不依赖于美国经济的资产，以及在长期能从美元下跌中获益的资产。
