亚洲股市下滑：因之前有调查显示，全球制造业活动以及需求依然疲弱，亚洲股市周四早盘回落，同时，日元日内跳涨，导致日股日经指数重挫逾2%。股市的下滑一定程度上削减了市场的风险情绪，从而提振了黄金的避险需求，这为黄金提供部分支撑。
营建支出创逾五年最大单月降幅：周三公布项数据显示，4月美国营建支出重挫1.8%，为2011年1月以来最大降幅，市场预估为增长0.6%。3月数据上修至增长1.5%，前值为增长0.3%。营建支出录得逾五年来最大跌幅，可能促使经济学家下调美国第二季增长预估，这对美元构成利空，从而为黄金提供支撑，限制了黄金昨日跌幅。
