周一，香港银行间隔夜拆借利率狂涨939个基点，由上周五的4%飙升至13.4%，创2013年6月有记录以来最高水平。香港银行间7天拆借利率也由上周五的7.05%大幅升至11.23%。
截至北京时间16:46，离岸人民币兑美元日内涨幅扩大至约600点或0.9%，最高至6.6229。
上周五人民币中间价报6.5636，收报6.5888。中国央行当天公布人民币中间价后，离岸人民币兑美元直线拉升300点，不过随后迅速回吐涨幅，收报6.5888。
彭博援引知情人士称，中国央行考虑除干预外更多措施，以避免人民币汇率大幅波动。央行考虑的措施主要为限制游资特别是外资炒作，或者利用离岸在岸汇差进行套利，中国还将加大对虚假贸易背景交易的核查力度。
之前有消息称，离岸和在岸人民币汇率价差在本月6日达到了史无前例的1600点，目前两岸价差约为800点。不少投资者选择在离岸市场买入人民币，在中国大陆出售进行套利。
这直接导致离岸人民币流动性大幅趋紧，推升短期银行间拆借利率。周一，香港银行间隔夜拆借利率狂涨939个基点，由上周五的4%飙升至13.4%，创2013年6月有记录以来最高水平。香港银行间7天拆借利率也由上周五的7.05%大幅升至11.23%。
星展银行驻香港的财富管理解决方案部门主管Tommy Ong指出，将资金从在岸市场转往离岸市场的许多渠道都被封锁，这也从某种程度上造成了香港市场上人民币供应短缺。上月30日多家外媒报道称，中国央行已对部分外资银行发通知，暂停其境外人民币业务参加行的跨境人民币购售业务，直至明年3月底。
