7月24日讯 ，英国央行货币政策委员会委员麦卡弗蒂周四（7月23日）在接受德国市场新闻国际通讯社(MNI)采访时表示，如果英国央行计划以渐进的方式加息，那么该行要小心不要太晚才加息。
麦卡弗蒂表示，他不能确定确切的首次加息的时间,这在很大程度上将会取决于接下来几个月的经济数据。
“我认为，如果我们想以渐进的方式加息，那么我认为我们需要当心不要太迟才加息。”麦卡弗蒂告诉MIN。
私营部门的薪资增长,包括奖金,可以为未来的通胀压力提供一个好的指引,麦卡弗蒂补充表示。
麦卡弗蒂称，很难“准确地”说英国央行的利率最高将升至2%、2.5%或3%。其指出汇率对通胀前景会产生“很大的影响”。
