人民币上演“自由落体”

人民币最近的贬值势头令市场感到意外。在国际货币基金组织(IMF)宣布将人民币纳入SDR(特别提款权)之后，离岸和在岸人民币兑美元开始持续走低。
日内欧市盘中，离岸人民币兑美元延续跌势，汇价一度跌破6.5200关口，最低触及6.5228。刷新自“8.11汇改”以来的低位。
在岸人民币兑美元也扩大跌幅，汇价下穿6.4400关口，最低触及6.4413，刷新自8月13日以来的低位。
令人感到吃惊的是，自上周五的低位6.4243到本周四的高位6.5261，短短5个交易日，离岸人民币兑美元跌幅已经超过1000点。同一时期，在岸人民币兑美元也累计重挫逾500点。
对于人民币“自由落体”般的贬值势头，花旗(Citi)亚太地区首席经济学家Johanna Chua日内表示，在美联储(FED)启动加息之前，美元需求大幅上升，中国央行(PBOC)倾向于精明地调配外汇储备，即赶在美联储行动之前提前释放人民币贬值压力。
Chua在香港的媒体吹风会上讲话中直言，“中国央行也许应该放任市场去释放一些人民币贬值压力。他们为何要扭转这种趋势、浪费自己的美元呢？”
他表示，“鉴于人民币中间价加强了市场化，其最近的(人民币的贬值)走势‘并不出格’。”
