2014年泰国黄金需求乐观

据泰国当地最大的进口商称，去年金价大跌，并且其国内不停的政治纠纷使得泰国购买了150到200吨的黄金。该机构第一季度进口黄金同比下降78%。在去年金价大跌近30%，在欧美投资者们纷纷逃离黄金市场的时候，亚洲消费者们却利用低价大量买入黄金。
泰国是继中国和印度之后亚洲最大的黄金消费国，世界黄金协会(WGC)的数据显示，泰国去年黄金消费量从73吨增至140.1吨。该国进口量较消费量高，因很多黄金包括珠宝被出口。自去年12月起泰国就爆发了动乱，其冲突将该国消费者信心拉到13年来最低水平，评级机构也警告称这将对当地已经很脆弱的经济形成进一步的威胁。
尽管因去年黄金需求的大爆发，令今年同比数据表现不佳，澳新银行(ANZ)分析师认为，泰国消费者们对黄金仍然是比较积极的态度。数据显示，今年3月泰国进口黄金10.6吨，是2月的差不多两倍，澳新银行认为这表明该国需求可能会有所改善。
