英美铂金遭罢工 损失4.4万盎司

世界最大铂金生产商英美铂金(Anglo American Platinum Ltd.)10月18日公布生产报告表示,第三季精炼铂金产量为62.3万盎司,较前季的59.5万盎司增加5%,与去年同期的62.6万盎司则约略相当。英美铂金表示,虽然因为南非矿场裁员的问题遭到了为期两周的罢工,但今年全年的生产目标仍维持在230万盎司不变。英美铂金也表示,第三季工安表现令人失望,很遗憾造成了4名员工的丧生。
英美铂金表示,由于裁员的问题,工会在9月27日至10月10日进行了为期两周的罢工,罢工期间损失的铂金产量共计4.4万盎司。英美铂金8月宣布将裁员4,800人,此较今年一月所宣布的14,000人已经大幅降低,不过仍不能令工会满意。英美铂金发言人Mpumi Sithole称在目前的环境下,裁员是为了企业生存不得不作的决定。英美铂金的矿产铂金产量占全球四成比重,南非铂金矿产量则占全球七成以上比重。
南非矿业协会主席斯比亚(Bheki Sibiya)指出,过去两年南非铂金矿商遭遇相当严重的国内外不利因素,目前有超过一半的南非铂金矿商均处于生产亏损的局面。斯比亚指出,国际上,由于欧洲经济衰退以及中国大陆的经济增长放缓,导致了铂族金属的需求下滑以及价格下跌;而在南非国内,生产成本上扬–特别是近期电价几乎倍增,以及生产力与矿石品位的下滑等,也令铂金矿商的挑战增加。
瑞银(UBS)10月18日最新报告将今年的铂金价格预估自每盎司1,519美元下调至1,508美元,2014年价格预估自1,750美元下调至1,600美元;今年的钯金价格预估自每盎司752美元下调至735美元,2014年价格预估自850美元下调至825美元。瑞银维持今年金价预估不变为每盎司1,437美元,银价预估则自每盎司24美元上调至24.3美元。
