英美铂金遭罢工 损失4.4万盎司

世界最大铂金生产商英美铂金（Anglo American Platinum Ltd.）10月18日公布生产报告表示，第三季精炼铂金产量为62.3万盎司，较前季的59.5万盎司增加5%，与去年同期的62.6万盎司则约略相当。英美铂金表示，虽然因为南非矿场裁员的问题遭到了为期两周的罢工，但今年全年的生产目标仍维持在230万盎司不变。英美铂金也表示，第三季工安表现令人失望，很遗憾造成了4名员工的丧生。
英美铂金表示，由于裁员的问题，工会在9月27日至10月10日进行了为期两周的罢工，罢工期间损失的铂金产量共计4.4万盎司。英美铂金8月宣布将裁员4,800人，此较今年一月所宣布的14,000人已经大幅降低，不过仍不能令工会满意。英美铂金发言人Mpumi Sithole称在目前的环境下，裁员是为了企业生存不得不作的决定。英美铂金的矿产铂金产量占全球四成比重，南非铂金矿产量则占全球七成以上比重。
南非矿业协会主席斯比亚（Bheki Sibiya）指出，过去两年南非铂金矿商遭遇相当严重的国内外不利因素，目前有超过一半的南非铂金矿商均处于生产亏损的局面。斯比亚指出，国际上，由于欧洲经济衰退以及中国大陆的经济增长放缓，导致了铂族金属的需求下滑以及价格下跌；而在南非国内，生产成本上扬–特别是近期电价几乎倍增，以及生产力与矿石品位的下滑等，也令铂金矿商的挑战增加。
瑞银（UBS）10月18日最新报告将今年的铂金价格预估自每盎司1,519美元下调至1,508美元，2014年价格预估自1,750美元下调至1,600美元；今年的钯金价格预估自每盎司752美元下调至735美元，2014年价格预估自850美元下调至825美元。瑞银维持今年金价预估不变为每盎司1,437美元，银价预估则自每盎司24美元上调至24.3美元。
