具體數據顯示，美國11月PCE物價指數年率實際公佈1.1%，預期1.2%，前值1.2%；美國11月核心PCE物價指數年率實際公佈1.4%，預期1.4%，前值1.4%。
從今年3月至今，美國經濟已經開始從新冠肺炎疫情的打擊中出現溫和復蘇。美國國會推出新一輪財政刺激計畫的可能性上升以及新冠疫苗取得積極進展成為近期影響美國經濟復蘇前景的利好消息。不過，疫情的陰霾還遠未散去。
美聯儲在最新的政策決議中，尋求在長期內實現最大就業和2%的通貨膨脹率。由於通脹持續低於這一較長期目標，美聯儲將致力於在一段時間內實現通脹適度高於2%的目標，以便通脹率在一段時間內平均為2%，長期通脹預期保持在2%。
美聯儲主席鮑威爾在利率決議後的新聞發佈會上表示，全球面臨沉重的反通脹壓力，推高通脹並非易事。從趨勢上看，這可能是新一輪漫長的擴張。
美國截至12月19日當周初請失業金人數實際公佈80.30萬，預期88萬，前值88.5萬；美國截至12月12日當周續請失業金人數實際公佈533.70萬，預期556.0萬，前值550.8萬。
在新冠疫情反彈影響下美國就業市場復蘇面臨巨大阻礙。分析人士認為，自今年春季以來，申請失業救濟人數整體呈下降趨勢。但近月來復蘇速度有所放緩，這與新冠疫情在美境內大幅反彈趨勢相吻合。
分析認為，美國就業增長整體趨勢正在明顯放緩。就業市場已經失去了增長動力。近期裁員主要發生在娛樂和休閒業以及交通運輸行業，包括餐館、零售商和航空公司等。這也與疫情下被迫關停的行業類型相一致。由於就業需求沒有完全恢復，就業機會下降趨勢還將持續，每週都將有成千上萬人失去工作。
另有分析指出，近期美國失業人數激增，表明就業形勢不僅沒有逐步好轉，反而在加劇惡化。而首次申請失業救濟人數出現跳升尤其令人擔憂，因為目前該指標仍遠高於疫情前，環比增幅也仍維持在疫情前三倍多水準。
