英國財政大臣蘇納克指出，短期內英國脫歐貿易協定更可取。脫歐談判團隊正在努力工作，我充滿希望和信心，仍然對與歐盟達成脫歐協議抱有希望。不過歐盟委員會主席馮德萊恩表示準備離開，無貿易協議達成，而法國也對漁業問題發出抱怨。而愛爾蘭總理邁克爾馬丁在最近的評論中似乎充滿希望。
11月25日，由英國財政部資助，負責提供獨立經濟預測和公共財政分析的公共機構預算責任辦公室(OBR)發佈了一份《財政可持續性報告》，指出英國今年的國民生產總值（GDP）預計將縮減11.3%，這創下了英國300年來的最大經濟跌幅。

日內為感恩節，多國市場休市，市場交投較為清淡，不過美國新冠病毒感染病例、住院和死亡人數不斷上升，此外儘管週三公佈的大量數據喜憂參半，但連續兩周初請失業金人數增加令人擔憂，打壓美元。與此同時，美聯儲11月會議紀要顯示，成員們積極討論了債券購買計畫，可能準備擴大規模。
近期影響英鎊匯率的因素是新冠病毒感染病例已經見頂的明顯跡像，以及歐盟與英國貿易談判的進展，每日感染病例數從11月早些時候的3萬多例回落到11月25日的18213例，表明12月2日有望放鬆封鎖，但仍將實施嚴格的分級封鎖。
