美元指數週四延續下跌，盤中一度跌至94.58，為2018年9月以來最低水準，這使得黃金對持有其他貨幣的投資者來說不那麼昂貴。上周美國初請失業金人數意外上升，為近四個月來首次，這表明在新增病例數回升和需求低迷的情況下，勞動力市場陷入停滯。分析師稱，“宏觀環境繼續向有利於黃金的方向發展，美元指數走軟至兩年低位，實質收益率在負值區域進一步下滑。”
分析師表示：“如果黃金價格能突破2011年創造的歷史最高水準，那麼誰能保證它下一步不會達到2000美元？顯然，沒有人知道它能不能達到，但現在金價顯然上漲動力十足，並且基本面仍是看漲。”
