7月27日，貴金屬持續走高，現貨白銀出現巨大漲幅。而現貨黃金則持續刷新新高，將要逼近歷史新高位。在經濟增長放緩，病毒感染病例增加，美國實際利率為負值，國際關係今後在那個的前提下，市場避險需求增加。
紐約商品交易所8月交割的黃金期貨價格上漲1.1％，至1865.10美元，接近2011年的紀錄高點1923.70美元。紐約商品交易所9月交割的白銀期貨一度上漲8.3％，至每盎司23.35美元，是2013年以來最活躍合約的最高價。銀價今年已上漲約29％，是大宗商品指數中表現最好的品種。各國政府和中央銀行釋放的大量刺激措施也推高了貴金屬價格，在歐洲本周針對經濟救助計畫達成協議之後，市場焦點轉向美國經濟刺激法案的進展。
分析師表示，這是一個典型的低流動性夏季市場，價格更容易推動，尤其是在得到三重支撐、價格勢頭已經確立的情況下，金價越接近歷史新高，磁場就會越強，可能很快就會挑戰該水準。只要金價上漲、美元走軟以及工業需求增加預期的支撐，白銀也應該繼續走高。
價正在加速攀升，這主要是因為國際地緣政治緊張局勢，這種緊張局勢升級似乎看不到結束的跡象，市場人氣將受打擊。
週三白銀上漲超過8％，為3月份以來最大漲幅，並且因供應擔憂和對工業需求反彈的樂觀情緒而獲得了進一步的提振。白銀ETF的實物白銀持有量達到創紀錄水準，黃金ETF持有量在週二創出6月中旬以來最大上漲，也達到歷史最高。本周迄今，白銀已經上漲逾18%，一些分析師認為這是一輪由低利率、投資需求復蘇、生產中斷和工業消費復蘇推動的牛市的開始。
分析師預計現貨黃金的下一個主要目標位是2011年創下的高點1920.70美元，突破這一水準將意味著黃金可能很快就會挑戰2000美元大關。現貨白銀的下一個目標位料為2011年其整固區間底部的26美元。值得注意的是，當前金價接近其歷史交易區間的頂部，而銀價僅位於其歷史交易區間的中部。這表明白銀還有更大的上行空間。而許多交易商也認為，相較黃金，白銀目前是被低估的。
