加拿大CPI資料超出預期，美國房市資料表現較差

3月18日，加拿大對2月份的CPI資料進行了公佈，資料結果表現好於預期，在資料公佈後，美元兌加元出現小幅度回落，而和加拿大同時公佈的美國房市資料與整體表現較差，但該資料對金價的影響有限。
加拿大通脹數據略超預期。具體資料顯示，加拿大2月CPI年率實際公佈2.2%，預期2.1%，前值2.4%；加拿大2月核心CPI年率實際公佈1.8%，預期1.8%，前值1.8%。
在美聯儲宣佈緊急降息後，本月4日加拿大央行也跟隨美聯儲腳步將利率降低0.5個百分點，至0.75%。分析師稱，在近期該行採取降息之後，市場已消化了其將採取更多行動的預期。
此次日程之外的利率決定是鑒於疫情和近期油價大幅下跌對加拿大經濟造成的負面衝擊而採取的一項主動性措施。央行將在4月15日提供對加拿大和全球經濟前景的全面更新。隨著形勢的發展，管理委員會隨時準備在需要時進一步調整貨幣政策，以支持經濟增長並使通脹保持在目標水準。如果需要，還將再次降息。
近期加元兌主要貨幣可能面臨進一步下跌的風險。加元與原油價格密切相關近期或追隨油價疲軟而下行。隨著旅遊需求的下降，原油價格從1月的峰值下跌了30%以上也就不足為奇了。旅行限制越來越多，航空公司在亞太地區面臨的壓力加劇。
和加拿大CPI同時公佈的美國資料具體顯示，美國2月新屋開工年化月率實際公佈-1.5%，預期-4.3%，前值-3.6%；美國2月營建許可月率實際公佈-5.5%，預期-3.2%，前值9.2%。
