3月 17日，貴金屬全線反彈，現貨黃金從低點出現巨大回升，刷新日內新高點，由於之前現貨黃金連續下跌，吸引了大量投資者從低位買入，同時美聯儲宣佈增加放貸，緩解了市場對資金流動性的擔憂。
此前美聯儲表示，將重啟金融危機時期的短期公司債購買安排，以緩解信貸市場緊張狀況，後者受累於不斷升級的公共衛生緊急狀況，使數百萬美國人的日常生活受到干擾，並有可能將美國經濟推入衰退。
根據美聯儲週二發佈的聲明，美聯儲將在得到財政部長批准的情況下動用緊急權力設立商業票據融資工具。財政部將從外匯穩定基金中拿出100億美元用作信貸保護。美聯儲將重新啟用金融危機時期採用過的工具，在商業票據市場因新冠疫情遭受“巨大壓力”的情況下，説明美國公司在商票市場融資。
同時，紐約聯儲本周將每天通過隔夜回購操作提供一萬億美元，將在上午和下午的隔夜回購操作中分別提供5000億美元。
據悉，白宮和美國財長努欽正討論的經濟刺激計畫總額最高可能達到1.2萬億美元。美國財長努欽稱，規模約1萬億美元的刺激計畫將包括貸款和直接提供支票；刺激計畫中包括為小企業提供3000億美元的貸款，2000億美元用來保持穩定性，還包括兩輪2500億美元的支票發放。
金價在上周觸及七年高位後已下跌近10%。週一一度大跌5.1%，跌破200日移動均線，並觸及2019年11月以來最低。高盛分析師在一份報告中稱，油價下跌也令金價受挫，因這導致俄羅斯央行暫停購買黃金的操作，並可能引發一些拋售；短期內，金價可能會保持震盪走勢，以尋找新的均衡水準。
