美元降息並不會拉低美元

美國總統特朗普表示，美聯儲進一步降息將會拉低美元的價值，對美國貿易有一定的幫助，但目前的降息並沒有拉低美元，未來也大概率不會，只要全球經濟增長放緩，市場對全球貿易體系充滿疑惑，美元都會被支撐走高。
美元兌一籃子全球貨幣的匯率與年初大致持平，今年美聯儲官員不僅沒有像原本預期的加息整整一個百分點，而且還將政策利率目標區間下調了0.75個百分點。在此期間，美元小幅攀升，回落，再攀升，然後再回落，最終變動不大。
理論上，如果一個國家的央行降息，應該會使利用本國貨幣進行的生息投資不如在其他國家的投資有吸引力，從而降低對本國貨幣的需求，並降低其價值。
但這種關係並不是機械的。更大的市場力量和看法也在發揮作用，而美元作為世界儲備貨幣的獨特地位，這是特朗普一直津津樂道的，意味著對美元的需求廣泛而穩定。
美聯儲10月利率決議宣佈進行今年第三次降息，以幫助維持美國的經濟擴張，儘管世界其他地區的經濟正在放緩。不過，美聯儲表示，除非經濟形勢惡化，否則不會進一步降息。
