9月26日，美國方面公佈了GDP數據，數據額符合市場預期，但是美國企業投資萎縮的情況比市場分析的結果還要差，雖有GDP數據撐腰，但金價在探底後有有更大的回升。同時經濟前景蒙陰，提升了美聯儲降息的概率。
具體數據顯示，美國第二季度實際GDP年化季率終值實際公佈2%，預期2%，前值2%。
分析師評美國第二季度實際GDP年化季率終值指出，美國第二季度企業投資萎縮情況比預期更大，企業利潤增長不溫不火，給經濟蒙上了一層陰影，而金融市場對經濟衰退的擔憂正籠罩著經濟。
上季度企業投資年率下降1.0%，為2015年第四季度以來最大跌幅。疲弱的企業支出和不溫不火的利潤增長可能會讓人懷疑消費者是否有能力繼續推動經濟增長。美國上半年經濟增速為2.6%。隨著美國稅改和政府大舉支出影響的消退，美國經濟在很大程度上正失去動能，經濟學家預計美國今年經濟增速為2.5%左右，低於特朗普政府3%的目標。
分析指出，個人消費支出(PCE)和非住宅固定投資下修的影響被州和地方政府支出和出口的上修抵消。
對於美國GDP的表現，經合組織(OECD)認為，雖然特朗普的減稅政策帶來的激勵效果在日益減少，但其帶來的就業和消費仍然具有支撐作用。
而GDP總量方面，今年上半年，美國已經超過了10.5萬億美元，OECD預測全年有望繼續突破21萬億美元。預測美國將繼續成為全球唯一一個經濟總量超過20萬億美元的國家。
另一國際知名評級機構——惠譽國際則預測，美國2019年全年的GDP增速將為2.3%，2020年或將只有1.7%。
其他影響力較小的數據顯示，美國8月批發庫存月率初值實際公佈0.4%，預期0.1%，前值0.2%。
上周初請人數錄得溫和增長，表明勞動力市場強勁勢頭持續。儘管商業投資和製造業承壓，但失業情況不算嚴重，這有助於消費者支出的提升，對經濟增長有所助益。
有經濟學家認為，由於勞動力需求放緩和技術工人的短缺，尚不清楚企業招聘的動能是否失去。從調查來看，今年以來的就業增速較去年有所放緩。
