CPI數據好於預期，金價短線下挫

CPI數據公佈後，美聯儲聯邦基金利率期貨顯示月底美聯儲降息50基點的幾率有所下降。
機構評論美國6月季調後CPI月率指出，美國核心CPI創近一年半以來最大增幅，商品和服務行業成本穩定增長，但這可能不會改變美聯儲本月降息的預期。
分析師指出，雖然美國6月份CPI創下近一年半年來最大漲幅，但可能不會改變美聯儲本月將降息的預期。美國6月未季調核心CPI月率上漲0.3%；這是自2018年1月以來的最大漲幅，此前連續四個月上漲0.1%；其中服裝、二手汽車和卡車以及傢俱價格的強勁上漲推動了所謂的核心CPI，醫療和租金成本也有所上升。
美聯儲主席鮑威爾週三對國會議員表示，美聯儲將”採取適當行動”，保護美國經濟免受貿易局勢和全球經濟增長放緩等日益加劇的風險影響；鮑威爾還表示，通脹疲軟的持續時間可能比我們目前預期的還要長。美聯儲上個月將2019年的通貨膨脹率預測從3月份的1.8%下調至1.5%。
另一項初請失業金數據顯示，美國截至7月6日當周初請失業金人數錄得20.9萬人，預期22.1萬人，前值22.1萬人。另外分項數據，美國截至7月29日當周續請失業金人數錄得172.3萬人，預期168.3萬人，前值168.6萬人。
美國初期請失業金人數降至3個月低位，這表明勞動力市場持續走強可能提振放緩的經濟。美國勞動部表示，因汽車製造廠商暫時關閉裝配廠，申請失業金數據正步入波動期。因企業在不同時期關閉工廠，這將影響政府用於消除季節波動性因素的模型。
