零售數據向好，美指大漲黃金下跌

4月18日，美國宏觀經濟數據表明3月零售數據以及初請數據好於市場預期，美元指數短線走高，而金價而下跌3美元。同時加拿大2月零售數據好於預期，但受美元影響，匯價不斷下跌。
具體數據顯示，美國3月零售銷售月率增加1.6%，好於預期的增加1%，前值為下滑0.2%；而3月核心零售銷售月率為1.2%，也好於市場預期的0.7%，前值則下滑0.4%。
美國3月份零售額增幅創一年半以來最大，原因是美國家庭增加了汽車和一系列其他商品的購買量，這一最新跡象表明， GDP增速在經歷了一個錯誤的開局之後，在一季度有所回升.
3月份強勁的核心零售銷售可能導致一季度GDP預期進一步上調。美國2月貿易逆差連續第二個月收窄後，一季度 GDP增速升至2.4%左右；由於貿易、庫存和建築支出報告相當樂觀，四季度的 GDP增速預計為2.2%。
分析師預測，到2026年，電子商務佔據零售總額的比重將從當前的16%上升至25%。該報告稱，如果發生這種情況，未來七年將有大約75000家零售店關閉(不含餐飲)。
美國當周初請失業金人數再創49年半以來新低，表明經濟持續強勢，該數據已經連續五周下降。初請人數的四周均值也創下1969年11月以來新低。
勞工部稱，由於復活節和春假，初請人數可能會在近期出現波動。儘管企業招聘的趨勢放緩，但適工年齡的勞動力總體保持上升。美聯儲週三的報告顯示4月美聯儲轄區大部分的就業都處在“溫和到中性的增長”。而美聯儲褐皮書則提到了全國範圍有明顯的勞動力缺口，普遍在製造業和建築業。
從好的方面來看，即使全球不確定性繼續影響出口商和企業支出，美聯儲最近採取的“耐心”立場應該有助於避免12月份出現的消費者支出再度下滑。緊縮的勞動力市場，和更快的工資增長，應該支持未來的支出。個人消費約占美國經濟產出的70%，因此只要家庭消費繼續增長，GDP增長就應該保持積極。
