兩大因素支撐英鎊,但多頭仍不可掉以輕心
因投資者權衡首次在印度發現的新型毒株可能會推遲6月21日英國封鎖措施的解除,英鎊兌美元在周二早些時候一度觸及1.4250美元的三年新高隨後回落。周三,對疫情的擔憂有所降溫,英鎊兌美元持堅。然而多頭卻依然面臨通脹帶來的壓力。
兩大因素支撐英鎊
荷蘭國際集團首席EMEA外彙和IR策略師Petr Krpata稱,由于擔心新冠疫情在英國蔓延,投資者已變得更加謹慎。 Krpata表示:”對印度變異毒株擴散的擔憂,以及6月21日全面解除封鎖的計劃延遲的風險,再次打壓英鎊。”
不過,周二,英國已經連續28天內沒有新的新冠肺炎死亡病例記錄,這是2020年3月以來的首次。這讓人們對于英國解除封鎖措施的樂觀情緒升溫,推動英鎊兌美元反彈。
上周,英鎊在英國央行政策制定者維列傑Gertjan Vlieghe的講話中找到了支撐。維列傑表示,英國央行在今年內不會考慮加息。但他指出,如果經濟反彈速度快于預期,央行可能會將加息的時間提前至2022年。
通脹風險不可忽略
英鎊是今年十國集團(G10)中表現最好的貨幣,在英國實施快速疫苗接種計劃後,全球投資者對英國的樂觀情緒令英鎊受益。不過在經濟複蘇的同時,通脹擔憂也再度浮現。英國零售商報告稱,商品價格跌幅已經縮減至疫情爆發以來最低,部分原因是隨著封鎖放松,購物者消費活動劇增,預計價格壓力在2021年剩余時間裏可能會進一步上升。
同時,隨著英國5月份開始第三階段的重新開業,允許在酒吧和餐館室內用餐,包括采購經理調查在內的經濟指標都在上升。英國央行副行長拉姆斯登(Dave Ramsden)表示,央行正在密切關注英國繁榮的房地産市場。雖然英鎊兌美元有望扭轉跌勢,但投資者仍應關注疫情及通脹的進一部發展。
