2月12日，由於美元指數連續反彈，國際金價出現一定走弱，但美元指數重新收跌基本為定居，加上美國就業市場疲軟，削弱了投資者對經濟復蘇的預期，加上拜登政府的1.9萬億美元刺激計畫，和美聯儲寬鬆政策帶來的大量資金，市場有一定分歧。
目前美國勞動力市場的閒置仍然很大。大流行期間減少的2220萬個工作崗位中，已有1230萬個恢復。聯邦預算辦公室(CBO)估計，就業在2024年之前不會恢復到大流行前的水準。
如果加上1.9萬億美元支出，美國赤字和債務水準無疑會大幅增加。因為截至9月30日的2020財年，美國冠狀病毒支出約4萬億美元。去年12月底通過的9000億美元的冠狀病毒刺激計畫推高了2021財年赤字預估。
佩洛西說，眾議院將批准並向參議院提交一項新冠法案，其中包括逐步將最低工資提高到每小時15美元。這項立法完成後，拜登將在國會聯席會議上發表講話。
美國勞動力市場繼續停滯不前，周度初請失業金人數仍遠高於2008年大衰退時期的峰值66.5萬，但新增新冠病例數下降引發了謹慎的樂觀情緒，即動能可能會在春季之前回升。
上周美國新增病例資料包下降了25%，這是自大流行爆發以來的最大降幅。根據對美國各州和縣報告的分析，新增感染人數現在已經連續四周下降。
拜登指出，下個月美國因新冠死亡的人數可能達到50萬。他敦促美國人戴口罩以防止疫情擴散。他還說，美國政府已分別與Moderna公司和輝瑞公司簽署了各1億劑疫苗的合同，“我們現在已經購買了足夠的疫苗給所有美國人接種疫苗。”
鑒於新冠疫苗未獲授權兒童使用，還有不少人表示不希望注射疫苗，因此新的疫苗訂單加上先前已經簽訂的4億劑疫苗合同，使得美國已獲授權使用的兩款疫苗總數足以能夠在7月31日之前實現為3.3億總人口中的大多數提供接種。
三藩市聯儲主席戴利在接受《華爾街日報》採訪時表示，美聯儲今年不太可能縮減購債刺激計畫，她仍預計美國經濟將在今年下半年提速，因為新冠疫苗接種，使經濟能夠從疫情中復蘇。
一些人認為，強勢美元可以加快美國相對於其他國家的經濟復蘇節奏；而另一些人則認為，弱勢美元可以印證全球通貨膨脹抬頭預期，從而提升以美元計價的大宗商品價格，刺激廠商擴大生產。
