美國10月零售銷售資料指出，受汽車銷售以及汽油價格上升的影響，美國10月零售銷售月率錄得好於預期的表現。不過值得注意的是，美國消費者減少了對大件商品以及服裝的購買，這可能會降低市場場對假期購物季的預期。
此前，美國9月零售銷售月率意外下降0.3%，錄得7個月以來首次下滑，主要是由於家庭在汽車、建築材料、興趣愛好以及網上購物的支出有所減少。13個主要零售類別中有7種在月率下降。經濟學家表示，9月零售資料的疲軟鞏固了人們對消費者無法永久支持經濟的擔憂。
除了美聯儲暫時不會進一步降息，歐洲央行近期也釋放出不會進一步放寬政策的預期，這對金價不利。
美國財政赤字的問題，暫時不會給金價短線走勢帶來太大的影響，但該因素會給金價中期走勢帶來一些支撐。
