貿易形勢好轉，似乎讓美聯儲有了更多的理由發表聽起來不那麼鴿派的措辭。投資者更關注是否可能存在進一步降息跡象。
美國聯邦通信委員會計畫於11月舉行投票，決定是否將華為和中興公司定為國家安全風險，這意味著他們可能將不會被列入美農村電信運營商85億美元政府基金的可採購名單中。

美國9月商品貿易逆差下降，但這並未改變三季度經濟增長進一步減速的看法，因消費者支出放緩且企業投資下滑。經濟學家仍然警告說，全球經濟增長放緩將會發展成為一場全球性經濟衰退。
分析師表示：“預計第三季度庫存實際增速回落，這意味著未來庫存對經濟增長造成的拖累可能小於我們此前的預期。但第四季度經濟增長前景看上去並不特別樂觀，因截至9月，部分與資本支出和消費者支出相關的數據的發展軌跡很疲弱。”
英鎊兌美元收復日內全部跌幅，並轉升0.04%至1.2853。最新消息顯示，英國唐寧街10號將接受蘇格蘭民族黨和自由民主的修正案，在12月11日舉行大選。英國反對黨工黨領導人科爾賓稱，將會支持提前大選。
英國首相詹森的選舉法案將在北京時間週三(10月30日)淩晨00:30進行二讀，並在稍後的淩晨2:30進行最終投票。如果修正案“太多”，議員們將拒絕進行單獨投票，而是將其合併為幾項“聯合”投票。
