現貨黃金進入技術性調整，但全球市場仍十分激烈

8月26日，現貨錄得六年新高，因貿易紛爭的急劇升級讓投資者信心大受打擊，投資資金紛紛湧向避險資產，全球經濟前景一片悲觀。而全球央行稱，有人不遺餘力地擴大市場動盪，但全球貿易局勢被市場早早預料，金價短期內面臨技術性調整。
北京時間上周六(8月24日)，美方宣佈對約5500億美元中國輸美商品關稅的稅率再提高5%。數小時之前中國宣佈對750億美元美國商品加征報復性關稅。貿易摩擦嚴重升級，美國股市遂大幅下挫。
美國總統特朗普之前一天還發推特稱，要求美國企業離開中國或者回到美國開設工廠。但沒等中方作出回應，美國股市及大宗商品價格已經作出了回應——大幅下跌。
美國總統特朗普上周五還嚴詞批評，美聯儲主席鮑威爾，並稱如果鮑威爾願意辭職，他不會試圖阻止。特朗普在前往法國出席G7峰會前向記者稱，他對鮑威爾不滿意。
鮑威爾上周五表示，美國經濟“狀態良好”，聯儲將“酌情採取行動”，以保持當前的經濟增長沿著既定的軌道發展，但並未像特朗普希望那樣承諾展開連串降息。
出席傑克遜霍爾央行年會的各國央行行長表示，如果人的問題是癥結所在，那麼降息也無濟於事。這並不是貨幣政策能夠解決的事情。而且有一些人似乎不遺餘力地要把水攪渾。
對美聯儲來說，如果貿易不確定性拖累企業投資，開始損及消費者支出，那麼可能會在經濟情勢仍混沌不明的情況下降息至零，迫使鮑威爾與聯儲決策者甚至得在危機或衰退的範圍之外，權衡是否要重新動用危機時期的工具。
