黃金創下新高，特朗普陷入麻煩

2月19日，現貨黃金連續走高，創新十個月高點。美聯儲態度轉向鴿派，全球貿易形勢尚未明朗。美國多個州起訴特朗普濫用職權，加劇市場避險情緒。而歐洲央行高層鴿派發言導致歐元大跌，美元可能結束連跌趨勢。
美聯儲如果在會議紀要中暗示，可能不再考慮進一步加息，那麼美元可能受到打壓。不過，考慮到幾個聯邦公開市場委員會成員已經為未來幾個月更為溫和的貨幣政策做好了準備，會議紀要也可能包含很少的新資訊。
考慮到近期美聯儲主席發表的評論以及1月份CPI和PPI數據乏善可陳，短期內潛在加息的情況應該不會出現意外。迫在眉睫的問題是美聯儲將其資產負債表正常化的速度，這將是一個焦點領域。
中國證實，應美方邀請，習近平主席特使、國務院副總理、中美全面經濟對話中方牽頭人劉鶴將訪問華盛頓，於2月21日至22日同美國貿易代表萊特希澤、財政部長姆努欽舉行第七輪中美經貿高級別磋商。
中國外交部在週一例行新聞發佈會上稱，我們希望中美雙方能夠共同努力來落實中美兩國元首在阿根廷會晤時達成的重要共識，抓緊工作，相向而行，努力達成一個雙方都能接受、互利共贏的協議。我想這符合中美兩國的利益，也是國際社會的共同期待。
中美均表示貿易談判取得進展，令市場益發期待兩國間的貿易衝突可望緩和。在市場對此感到不安的過去幾個月裏，黃金總體上是失利者，因其他新興市場經濟體看衰中國增長前景，它們選擇拋售黃金來維持美元儲備。
不同於中國較高的經濟增速，歐州經濟萎靡不振不會導致廣大發展中國家擔心美元儲備流失的問題，因此美歐貿易摩擦總體上是利好金價的。
以加州為首的美國16個州週一聯合起訴特朗普政府，後者為取得美墨邊界牆修築資金而宣佈國家進入緊急狀態。
除了認為國家緊急情況“沒有客觀依據”，因為非法入境美國的人數已經跌至45年來的低點，該訴訟辯稱，各州將因為新增“無效”執法而損失數百萬美元，而資金用於軍事建設專案，損害了國家經濟。
白宮和國會圍繞“邊境牆”建設與否之爭已導致長達35天、創紀錄時長的政府停擺，並且至今仍看不到任何可能徹底解決問題的方案。特朗普宣佈國家緊急狀態，完全名不副實，美國政府再度關門的前景無法排除。黃金在美國政局動盪期通常會收益。
