一、伦敦金是现货不是期货
伦敦金是以保证金进行交易的现货投资产品，其无须在规定时间内交割，可以随时交易，而期货的意思则是有交割时间期限限制的标准合约，所以，伦敦金不可能是期货。
二、伦敦金与期货的其他区别
1、平台不一样：黄金期货属于中国国内市场的内部黄金交易，国际金价对期货黄金有影响，但期货黄金有可能被大资金控制。伦敦金的话属于国际现货黄金，走向无人能控制，而且杠杆比例高，投资金额会更少，唯一需要的就是找一个正规合法，信誉好的平台。
2、做市商和交易所的不同：期货交易一般都需要在期货交易所里进行集中撮合交易，而交易所必须是会员才能交易，一般客户必须通过会员代理才能做交易。国际黄金市场上市场交易量和市场交易规模最大的伦敦黄金交易市场并不存在集中撮合交易的交易所，而是由五大黄金做市商(著名国际大银行)和下一级的大量金商组成的黄金做市商网络提供现货黄金延迟交收模式。
3、价格形成机制不同：伦敦金交易的价格是由黄金做市商报出买卖价格，依据做市商的报价，客户决定是否与做市商交易。期货交易的价格形成机制是在交易所里所有交易者集中竞价形成的价格。
4、每日价格波动：期货黄金：不超过上一交易日结算价的±5% 有涨跌停限制。伦敦金：没有涨跌停限制，每天行情浮动150%至200%，如果有意外事件影响，更高一些。
