新美国供应管理协会1日公布的报告显示，4月份美国制造业继续扩张，但扩张速度低于市场预期。报告显示，4月份美国制造业采购经理人指数为51.5，与3月份持平，但低于市场普遍预期的52。经济学家认为，美国第一季度经济增长疲软主要是受到严寒天气等暂时性因素影响，未来几个季度美国经济将反弹，整体看来，美联储利率决议虽偏向鹰派，但市场对于6月加息预期逐渐减弱，但同时也对黄金构成下行压力；另外，欧洲时段公布的数据显示，英国4月制造业PMI大幅不及市场预期，但是消费者信贷创2008年来最大增幅。
