黄金在4月份跌入熊市，今年已下跌18%。昨日美联储主席伯南克称，如果经济足够强劲，美联储很可能在今年稍晚放缓QE，并于2014年年中结束。伯南克还表示，目前规模达每月850亿美元的债券购买，可能会在美国失业率降至7%以下之后终止。5月份，美国失业率为7.6%。不过，伯南克坚称，若经济前景发生变化，这一设想的情景可能会有变数。他表示，“我们的政策绝不是预先确定的，而是将取决于新的数据和经济前景。”
