美国就业市场状况指数（LMCI）是市场关注的其中一个焦点数据，其一般是在非农盛宴后的首个工作日公布，其均能反映美国劳动力市场的状况，那么其与非农有没有什么关系呢？

理论上来看，非农占LMCI数据的63%。
LMCI是基于19个指标综合而成的模型，而非农就业人口数据只是其中一个指标，美银美林曾经综合测算得出，非农就业人数占该指数63%左右，因此，往往我们能通过非农数据来推算LMCI的大致数值。同时，该数据由于还考虑到就业市场的其他因素，所以，其较非农更能全面反映就业市场的状况，从而为美联储决策者提供更多思考空间。
从实际数据变化来看，LMCI的变动情况是非农数据变化的前瞻。
下图为2015年非农数据与LMCI数据的对比。从图中我们可以看出，除了2月外，LMCI与非农大致呈现正相关的关系，自1月初LMCI开始下降，非农人口变动在2月出现显著增长之后，3月升势大幅减弱，说明LMCI在把季节性调整因素结合计算之后的下跌趋势相较非农而言更为科学客观，3月至5月LMCI平缓回升，非农数据也跟随上行态势回归至每月20万人上方，且升势在25-26万之间放缓。
同时，由于LMCI更能反映美国就业市场的状况，因此，当LMCI出现明显增长时，会更利好于美元和加息预期，从而对黄金构成利空。反之，则利好黄金。
而上周非农人口公布值仅有17.3万人，远低于前值，与7月LMCI数据的较差表现相互呼应。本夜LMCI数据或为接下来9-10月的美国就业市场状况提供依据，成为指导美联储加息预期的重要参考指标，另外，从过去的历史来看，8月非农有点不靠谱，在过去20年中，8月非农数据曾被上修17次，因此非农数据未必能如实反映美国就业情况，又因8月失业率为5.1%，创下7年半以来的较低水平，表现出就业市场较为充分，更是佐证了该次非农疲软假象的一大依据。
