A先生设立一手国际现货黄金即时多单，入市价位1204美元/盎司，原止盈目标1210美元/盎司，止损价1200美元/盎司，单子马上进场交易，当金价运行至1208美元/盎司时，A先生担心金价运行至1210下方将有回落风险，于是设置了追踪止损，追踪止损点位为20个点，即与现价相差2美元，当金价运行至1209美元/盎司，止损价就变为追踪止损价，报1207美元/盎司，那么即使金价在1209-1210美元/盎司之间回落修正，交易单也能触及追踪止损价1207美元/盎司自动平仓，因此A先生获得3美元/盎司的盈利，即30个点，锁定了多单大部分原有盈利。
2、争取更大利润
C小姐设立一手国际现货黄金即时空单，入市价位1198美元/盎司，原止盈目标1193美元/盎司，止损价1203美元/盎司，单子马上进场交易，当金价运行至1194美元/盎司以后，空盘成交量放大，而行情还没有进入超卖，这时C小姐临时加仓，修改止盈价位和设置追踪止损，追踪止损点位为20个点，当金价运行至1190美元/盎司时，浮动盈利为80个点，单子止损价从1203美元/盎司变为追踪止损价1192美元/盎司，当金价运行至1188美元/盎司，浮动盈利为100个点，单子追踪止损价为1190美元/盎司，若金价下行至某个价位发转，追踪止损价则维持不变，假设金价在1185美元/盎司反转，追踪止损价就固定在1187美元/盎司，单子触及1187美元/盎司自动平仓，C小姐至少获得110个点的盈利。
