什么是空头回补？空头回补是指已经建立空仓的头寸在现货黄金行情与已建的交易单呈反方向运行时，与多头回补相反。空头头寸把单子作平仓了结，然后补挂多单的行为。这也是基于贵金属现货具有双向交易特点才能进行的操作。下面我们看一下空头回补的出现有哪几种情况。
1、金价经历超卖区以后，多头积蓄已久的动能获得释放，继而推动金价上涨，从而使原来看跌的空盘执行平仓，对金价构成筑底反弹的作用。
2、在受到带有重要推动性的利好消息面发酵下，金价在上升到一定高位时期，必然有空单执行逢高做空思路，而随着利好消息发酵，金价走势稳健上升，因此空盘被触及止损位后无奈离场，于是跟随上涨行情入市做多，利于金价进一步打开上行空间。
3、从技术指标上分析，通常如布林带、MACD指标都会发出大行情到来前的预备信号，这时持有空单的投资者则会把空单平仓，从而提前持有多单，这为上涨行情到来前，多头积累低位能量提供支持。
4、我们很多时候会看到金价走势呈“V”型，反映为回落以后再反弹，单从基本面上分析，这种现象出现在当重要消息公布之前，市场对消息的估计，若市场认为消息利好黄金，则会提前买入，若市场认为消息利空黄金，则会提前卖出，而空头回补的发生，是市场认为消息面将利空黄金，炒金采取做空。以非农数据为例，市场认为非农数据表现将利空黄金，因此在数据公布之前便筑起空盘，导致金价下跌，非农数据意外下降，市场上的大部分空盘则急忙把单子平仓，继而建立起多头，金价收复跌幅，因此走势呈“V”型。
由于现货黄金市场行情复杂，价格变动有时会让做单者束手无措，采用空头回补可以让我们及时扭转亏损局势，从而使交易单方向与行情方向相一致，而空头回补并不是单边上涨行情的主力军，而是跟随者，若单边行情上破动力没有基本面的进一步支撑，金价上行空间将被压缩，继而形成宽幅震荡或回调修正形态，因此空头回补在止盈点位设置上以3-5美元的盈利区间为宜。
