因为每天的交易量巨大，日交易量约为20万亿美元。因此没有任何财团和机构能够人为操控如此巨大的市场，完全靠市场自发调节。现货黄金市场没有庄家，市场规范，自律性强，法规健全。
此外，伦敦黄金市场交易的另一特点是灵活性强。买卖伦敦金的方式是客户可无须现金交收，即可买入黄金现货，到期只需按约定利率支付利息即可，但此时客户不能获取实物黄金。这种买卖方式，只是在会计账上进行数字游戏，直到客户进行了相反的操作平仓为止。
伦敦金24小时交易，工作上班两不误，活跃盘在国内的晚上8点之后，非常适合国内投资者投资。
现货黄金不足之处
首先：由于各个金商报的价格都是实价，有时市场黄金价格比较混乱，连金商也不知道哪个价位的金价是合理的，只好停止报价，伦敦金的买卖便会停止;其二是客户绝对保密，因此缺乏有效的黄金交易头寸的统计。伦敦金杠杆高，市场波动大。这是它的优点但同时也是缺点，因为相应地提高了投资风险。
