大田金業讲故事：勤俭岛和奢侈岛的故事
故事的主角是两个想象中相邻的小岛，我们姑且称之为奢侈到跟勤俭岛。两岛唯一的资产是土地，岛民们的需要也很原始，就是食物，他们也只生产食物。每天工作8小时，两小岛上的居民都足以维生。长此以往，过着自给自足的日子。
直到有一天，勤俭的勤俭岛上的居民决定储蓄和投资，并将每日工作的时间延长到16小时。他们继续靠每日8小时的生产维持生计，将另外8小时的产出出口到奢侈岛。奢侈岛的居民对此变化欣喜若狂。因为他们可以脱离辛劳，并且吃喝如常。这是要记账的，但奢侈岛的人看来，并无大碍。勤俭岛人所要求的，无非是奢侈岛的债券、钞票而已。
经年累月，勤俭岛人积攒下大量奢侈岛的债券。这时，奢侈岛的少数先知先觉者嗅出了隐约而来的麻烦。他们看到，为了生存和偿付累积的债务，终将要求奢侈岛的人工作8小时以上。然而，奢侈岛的居民却无心倾听这种末日审判式的语言。同时，勤俭岛的人也开始有些紧张。“奢侈大的债券最终靠得住吗？”他们在心里问道。于是，勤俭岛也改变了策略：在继续拥有一些债券的同时，他们将大部分债券换成了奢侈岛的土地。
最终勤俭岛的人拥有了整个奢侈岛。这时，奢侈岛的人不得不面对残酷的现实，他们不仅必须重回8小时的工作以维持生存，而且还需加时工作、以偿还债务和支持他们轻率卖掉后又重新租回的土地的租金。事实上，奢侈岛已被购买，并非被征服，成了别人的殖民地。
