大田金業讲故事：洛克菲勒的故事
100年来，人们把美国镀金时代第1个10亿富翁、强盗大亨的代表人物约翰·D·洛克菲勒刻画为一个冷酷魔头，他的形象和内心世界成为了一个谜。这个奇瘦无比的老头尽管一生疯狂敛财、在商场上扮演冷酷无情的角色，但在私生活中谨守清教徒般的节制习惯。他只是将敛财看做上帝赋予的使命，更奇怪的是，他敛财的主要原因是，他看到金钱能够令他的神经高度兴奋。
洛克菲勒的出身并不显赫，父亲是个假药贩子，他没有接受过高等的教育，16岁就外出打工。可能是因为少时贫困，洛克菲勒对发财有着一种强迫似的渴望，他总是对着自己的朋友说：“我必定会发财，必定会发财，必定会发财！”

洛克菲勒从16岁开始找工作时，便决定只在知名大企业里工作。他按照城里最大的企业名录一家一家的上门求职，并且提出要见企业最高管理则，第一轮没被录取后又开始找第二轮，豪不气馁，按部就班执行总监的求职战略。直到半年后他才找到了一份薄记工作。尽管与其所作贡献相比，他得到的待遇严重偏低，但他选择了忍耐，并且高度自信，严格要求自己，永远有着斗牛犬般不屈不挠的战斗意志，他从不将工作当作糊口的手段，而是作为积累资本和经验的渠道，也因此，他拿着廉价的工资，加班加点，研究数字，敏锐地发现企业账本中的错误，他的特长找到了发挥的舞台，同时也在吸收商界经验。
不过，在他工作期间，也发生了不少趣事，有一次，他踢老板要债，完全发挥了他敛财鬼的特征，在欠债者门前一等数小时，神情完全像是如果要不到这笔钱，他马上就得死去一样。
不久之后，在一个偶然的机会下，洛克菲勒进入了石油领域。在全名争着找油源、挖油井时，他分析了大势，觉得最稳定、业务量最庞大的不是找油源、挖油井，而是炼油。于是他花巨资收购炼油厂，逐渐在炼油、石油运输、油桶业务等方面做大。为了利率最大化他无所不用其极，使用各种商业诡计、合纵连横、不惜一切手段争取上下游资源合作区打击竞争对手，在合作和动态平衡重谋求控制权，招纳天下良才，并始终保持自己手头拥有大量的现金，在任何必要的时候，发动迅猛的商业攻势。
最后，洛克菲勒所经营的标准石油公司，一度占领美国炼油业90%以上的市场，变成了一个高利润率、高分红、高现金流量的赚钱机器。洛克菲勒也从一贫如洗的少年崛起成为石油业霸主，演绎了他敛财鬼传奇的一生。
