作为发现新大陆的著名航海家，哥伦布自然获得了当时很多人的尊重和荣誉。不过，也有一部分人认为这并没什么了不起，经常在话语中对他流露出讥讽。有一天，一帮人来到哥伦布家里做客，谈话间又聊起哥伦布发现新大陆的事，其中有两个人表示自己去也能发现新大陆，哥伦布只是运气好。
哥伦布听到后，只是微微一笑，转身到厨房拿出一个熟鸡蛋，并对大家说：“你们说能把这鸡蛋立起来？”大伙都认为这并没什么难的，就一哄而上要试试，但经过多次尝试后，却没有一个人能把鸡蛋立起来。
这时哥伦布拿过鸡蛋，把鸡蛋的一头轻轻磕破了壳，就把鸡蛋成功立起来了。这时众人自然很不服气：“你把蛋壳敲破了当然能立起来啊！”
“现在你们看到我把蛋壳敲破了，才发现没有什么了不起，”哥伦布缓缓说到：“可在这之前，你们怎么谁都没有想到呢？”这下，嘲讽哥伦布的人才认识到自己的错误，羞愧地低下了头。
其实，我们在黄金市场中做投资，也跟哥伦布发现新大陆是一样的，很多人会在行情出来后，以事后诸葛亮的角度对我们的投资策略评头论足，但在投资前却没人会想到这些，也没人敢去突破。所以我们做投资，只有切记钻研市场分析，及时发现大行情这块“新大陆”，才能赶在别人之前抢占盈利先机，至于别人的事后评论，就让他们说去吧！
