建安二年(公元197年)，诸葛亮的叔父诸葛玄病逝。诸葛亮和姐弟失去了生活依靠，便移居南阳，17岁的诸葛亮与友人徐庶等从师于水镜先生司马徽，诸葛亮的谋略才能被天下人赏识，当诸葛亮打算一展抱负之时，他看到刘表昏庸无能，不是命世之主，于是结庐襄阳城西二十里的隆中山中，隐居待时，这是公元197年的事。
诸葛亮在隆中已隐居了十年，他广交江南名士，“每自比于管仲、乐毅”，爱唱《梁父吟》，结交庞德公、庞统、司马徽、黄承彦、石广元、崔州平、徐庶等名士。其智谋为大家所公认，有匡天下之志。他密切注意时局的发展，所以对天下形势了如指掌。
等到刘备三兄弟来找他时，诸葛亮认为刘备是一个值得托付之人，便出山助刘备成就一番霸业。
诸葛亮看到当前的时机不适合自己，没有强行入世的打算，而是静静等待适合自己的时机出现，投资理财也是如此，当市场的波动不适合自己的操作习惯，强行进场交易可能还会引发一系列的麻烦，所以，投资者在交易时不要盲目追求盈利而忽略了自身的情况，等待合适的时机出现再交易，盈利机会才会更多。
