周三收盘，道指上涨0.55%，标普500上涨0.67%纳指上涨1%；原油上涨0.2%报97.59美元；黄金上涨0.3%报1314.50美元。
根据周三公布的日本GDP数据，4月1日提高消费税后，第二季度消费支出环比下滑5.2%，此为1994年有相关数据以来的最大跌幅，超过了日本1997年上一次提高消费税后消费支出下滑3.5%的幅度。预期为下滑3.7%。
7月份中国融资总量增长2730亿人民币，大大低于分析师此前预计的1.5万亿人民币。自2008年雷曼兄弟破产以来，这是中国信贷增长最慢的一个月。FT称，中国楼市低迷令银行业和影子银行趋于谨慎悲观是原因。
美国7月份的零售销售收入比6月份仅有微弱增长，为6个月以来的最低增幅。接受MW调查的经济学家预计该数字将增长0.2%。数据公布后，美国十年期国债收益率下降了7个基点，美元周内上涨了0.25%。
