美国仍有不相信气候变迁威胁的国会议员

苹果(Apple Inc.)执行长库克(Tim Cook)日前在股东会上义正辞严地表示，除了获利以外、企业应该也要兼顾到人类、地球的福祉。维京集团(Virgin Group)创办人Richard Branson在公司官网发表文章大大赞赏库克的发言。美国国家公共政策研究中心(NCPPR)日前在苹果股东会上说，没有任何具说服力的数据可以证明气候变迁的真实性。
Branson说，如果97%的气候专家都同意过去100年来的气候暖化趋势与人类活动有关，这么明确的事实如果不具说服力、那什么才是？长者基金会(The Elders)会长、前联合国秘书长安南(Kofi Annan)日前表示，2014年应该是气候变迁议题的行动年。他说，如果有什么议题是可以让所有人(不分老少、富有或贫穷)团结在同一阵在线，那应该是「气候变迁」。
Thomson Reuters报导，30位美国民主党籍参议员10日熬夜发言、希望能够唤醒国会重视气候变迁的威胁。美国参议院多数党领袖Harry Reid表示，尽管有排山倒海的科学证据与一面倒的民意，美国仍有完全不相信气候变迁威胁的国会议员。Reid于美东时间10日下午6时27分为这次马拉松非正式谈话会揭开序幕，最后一名发言的国会议员预计在11日上午9时登场。共和党籍参议院领袖Mitch McConnell上周表示，不相信气候暖化的人不会比相信的还要少。艾琳飓风、珊迪飓风接连在2011、2012年侵袭包括纽约市在内的美东地区。在西岸，加州正面临史无前例的旱象、高达94.56%的面积处于干旱状态。
