美国2013年12月结算盈余创史上新高

美国财政部13日公布2013年12月份(2014财政年度第3个月)财务预算报告，结算盈余达532.2亿美元，远高于去前同期11.91亿美元的赤字，且是史上同期新高。据彭博社调查，经济学家预估预算盈余为440亿美元。
报告显示，美国联邦政府当期税收年增5%至2,832.21亿美元，支出年减15%至2,300.01亿美元。累计2014财政年度前三个月，预算赤字下降至1,736亿美元，较去年同期的2,933亿美元减少41%。
据彭博社报导，除了经济转好导致税收增加外，房利美(Fannie Mae)、房地美(Freddie Mac)当月为国库贡献了约340亿美元是盈余改善最大主因。
尽管赤字成长速度获得控制，但美国举债上限危机仍未解除，财政部长Jacob Lew之前曾警告举债额度将在2月7日用罄，希望国会立即协商解决。
