纽约商业交易所（NYMEX）1月原油期货12月11日下跌1.07美元或1.1%成为每桶97.44美元，因油品库存大幅增加以及股市下跌的影响，欧洲ICE期货交易所（ICE Futures Europe）1月布兰特原油收低0.27美元或0.3%成为每桶109.15美元。两者的价差由前一交易日的10.91美元扩大至11.71美元。
美国能源部11日公布，截至6日的上周原油库存减少1,060万桶至3.752亿桶，汽油库存增加670万桶至2.191亿桶，蒸馏油库存增加450万桶至1.181亿桶；分析师原先预期上周汽油与蒸馏油库存将分别增加180万桶与90万桶。美银美林预估2014年布兰特原油均价将从今年的每桶109美元下跌至105美元，年内低点有可能触及90美元，西德州原油的均价预估则为92美元。
国际能源署（IEA）周三（12月11日）发布月报称，国际油价在11月初有所滑落，但进入12月之后随着炼油产能利用率的提升而有上涨。伊朗上月（11月24日）与六大国达成限核协议之后，石油市场的供应气氛较为舒缓；而美国原油产量的增加则令布兰特原油与西德州原油的价差在11月底一度扩大至每桶17.55美元。
IEA本月报告将2013年全球石油需求的预估较前月上调13万桶至每日9,120万桶，因经合组织（OECD）国家第三季需求较预期强劲，增长了每日3.2万桶的影响；其中，美国11月石油需求为2008年以来首度突破每日2,000万桶。2014年全球石油需求则预期将年增120万桶或1.3%至每日9,240万桶，此较上月报告的预估上调了每日24万桶。
IEA表示，11月全球石油日供应量增加31万桶至9,230万桶，主要受到石油输出国家组织（OPEC）以外国家的原油日产量十年来首度超过4,300万桶的带动。与去年同期相比，11月全球石油日供应量年增81万桶，因非OPEC国家原油产量与OPEC天然气凝析液（NGL，此不计入OPEC原油生产配额）的产量年增每日190万桶，抵消了OPEC原油日产量年减110万桶的影响。
