美国9月消费支出成长放缓、增幅不及薪资成长速度，显示家庭致力于增加储蓄，但在消费态度上却转趋保守。家庭支出占美国经济产值达7成，是衡量经济成长指标之一，支出减缓或将导致未来经济成长减速。
据商务部8日公布数据，9月个人所得月增0.5%，优于市场预估的0.3%；个人支出增加0.2%则是符合预期。
扣除通膨与税负之实质可支配个人所得月增0.4%，增幅同前月；实质个人消费支出月增0.1%，低于前月的0.2%；储蓄率自前月的4.7%上扬至4.9%。
美国联储局用以衡量通膨状况的个人消费支出平减指数月增0.1%，增幅与前月相同；排除食品和能源不计之核心个人消费支出平减指数亦与前月同为月增0.2%。
